Dr. Zack Lim is the Principal of the Academy of Concrete Technology (AoCT) and Managing Director of the Zacklim Group of Companies. He has organized over 30 seminars and served as the President of the ACI-Kuala Lumpur Chapter for two terms (2012–2016).
Mr. Steven Lim earned his MBA in Project Management in 2004 from the University of Southern California. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, he currently serves as a floor consultant for Ancon Beton (Australia), Premier Concrete Equipment (Australia), and FACE Construction Technologies (USA).
Prof. Mohd Fadzil Arshad obtained his Diploma in Civil Engineering from Politeknik Ungku Omar, Ipoh, in 1996 and his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in 1998. He completed his MSc in Civil Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2003 and went on to pursue his PhD, which he successfully completed in 2010.
Dr. Leong Geok Wen holds a PhD in Structural Engineering and Materials from the University of Malaya (2022) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering with First Class Honours and Distinction (2018). She was a recipient of the Board of Engineers Malaysia Excellent Award and was shortlisted for the Royal Education Award (2017/2018 session).
Dr. Yeo Shih Horng obtained his PhD in Engineering Science from the University of Malaya in 2024. He also earned his Master’s degree in Engineering Science in 2013 and his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in 2009, both from the same university. Dr. Yeo is the Director of YSH Concrete Technology Sdn. Bhd. and specializes in the design of high-performance, high-strength, and low-heat concrete.
Ir. Ts. Hj. Mohd Sofian bin Hj. Abdullah is a highly experienced civil and structural engineer, as well as a project planning and strategy expert, with extensive involvement across both the private and public sectors. His areas of expertise include project monitoring and supervision, data collection, land reclamation design, hydraulic and drainage irrigation, land development, structural works, forensic structural repair, and road and highway design.
Ir. Fan Hong Poh graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK, and earned an MBA from Henley Management College, University of Reading, UK. He is a Professional Engineer with a Practising Certificate (PEPC) registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (FIEM). He is also a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council, UK, and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, UK (MICE).
Ir. Ng Kok Peng graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering (First Class) from the University of Malaya in 1981. He later pursued an MBA, which he completed in 1993 from the same university. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM); a Professional Engineer with a Practising Certificate registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM); a Corporate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, UK (ICE); and a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, UK.
Ts. Nurliyana is an experienced ISO and IATF auditor as well as a concrete construction specialist, with over 12 years of expertise in quality control and assurance. Her experience spans both the concrete construction and automotive (tire) industries. She continues to play a key role in management, auditing, and technical consulting, driving organizational improvement through system compliance and industry best practices.
Ts. Fahmi has a strong engineering background in quality control, specializing in concrete design, testing, new product R&D, and rectification. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor and Trainer, actively involved in ISO compliance, auditing, and product training related to quality control. With over nine years of proven experience in managing concrete development within the construction industry, Ts. Fahmi continues to uphold high standards of precision and performance in his field.
Ts. Alex Yap graduated with a bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Civil Engineering and began his career as a Project Engineer in the heavy industries sector. He is now a specialist in concrete admixtures and leads BASF’s Precast and Underground Segment, bringing extensive experience from major projects—including high-rise buildings, infrastructure, and hydropower developments across Malaysia—as well as concrete-related research initiatives. Currently, Ts. Alex serves as an Executive Committee Member of ACI Malaysia and an Associate Member of MBAM.
Mr. James Lim completed his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Auckland in 1996. He began his career as a structural engineer with the consultancy firm TY Lin (SEA) Sdn. Bhd., where he developed a strong interest in concrete repair and waterproofing. He later worked with companies such as Hilti, MC Bauchemie, and Fosroc, specializing in product sales and specification work. In 2002, he earned his Executive MBA from the University of Bath, UK.
Mr. Chin first encountered the use of fibers as reinforcement for concrete floors in 2012 and has since been actively promoting their application in both cement and asphalt concrete. With a degree in mechanical engineering and over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, he delivers professional talks on replacing prefabricated steel mesh with synthetic fibers to reduce shrinkage cracks, improve impact strength, and enhance fatigue resistance and concrete toughness. He strongly advocates the use of heavy-duty fibers for long-term durability and superior structural performance.
Mr. Sebastian graduated from the School of Civil Engineering in 1999 and began his career the same year as a production executive in a concrete product manufacturing company. Since 2000, he has been deeply involved in quality control, progressing from officer to engineer and eventually to manager across various ready-mix concrete companies. His responsibilities include conducting R&D in concrete mix design and liaising with clients and consultants on technical matters. In addition to overseeing quality control, he also manages production and operations. He is currently the QAQC Manager and Plant Manager (Sentosa Plant) at Quality Concrete Sdn. Bhd., Kuching, Sarawak.
